Jamestown Pellet Stoves are, since 2008, Canadian owned. These stoves are built in one of Canada's colder areas, Thunder Bay in Ontario where temperatures regularly get down to -40 degrees, a good testing ground.Jamestown Stoves have been around since before 1989, which was early in pellet stove terms, and have proved their reliability by standing the test of time. Once called 'Baby Bear', current models are the J1000 and the J2000.
Both current freestanding models come with a wide range of accessories. The J1000 is also available as an insert. Accessories include hopper extensions, two types of leg or a pedestal, two cast iron door styles, etched glass viewing windows in varied designs, and a steel carpet protector pedestal base.
The stoves are all run tested in the factory for twenty five minutes, and the control boards are calibrated. Stove parts are laser cut for manufacturing consistency.
Jamestown offer a direct vent system for horizontal exhausts which combines both the inlet and outlet venting into one and only needs a single hole in the outside wall. They also offer a dedicated cleaning kit for their stoves which includes wire brushes, a burnpot cleaning tool and a vacuum adapter to get into the nooks and crannies.
Both stove models feature a heavy duty cast iron burnpot. The high heat transfer efficiency of Jamestown stoves gives them the capacity to heat larger areas for a given btu. output.
